The conversation. Catalogue, cart, address and payment, all inside WhatsApp, in English or Kiswahili, with a human handoff whenever it is asked for.
WhatsApp commerce + last-mile delivery
Take orders on WhatsApp.
Deliver them yourself.
Gumza lets merchants sell on WhatsApp. Customers browse, pay with M-Pesa and track delivery without ever leaving the chat. Gumza Dispatch takes it the last mile, on your own riders.
The order is taken in one place and fulfilled in the other, and both halves are looking at the same order.
The last mile. Zones, rider assignment, live GPS, proof of delivery and cash at the door, on your own riders and under your own SLAs.
Most businesses bolt a chat bot onto a courier and hope the two agree. A status is never guessed here, and a customer is never told something the dispatcher does not know.
How it works
Four steps. One order.
- Customer
Order
The whole storefront fits in a chat thread.
Browse categories, build a cart, share an address or a dropped pin, and pay by M-Pesa, card or on delivery, without installing anything. “nataka 2 kilo tomato” is read as an intent, across English, Kiswahili and Sheng.
- Merchant
Pack
Staff decide, then pick and pack.
Accept or reject, pick, pack, mark ready. A rejected prepaid order reverses itself, and a refund that fails raises an alert instead of going quiet. Nothing dispatches on payment alone.
- Dispatcher
Dispatch
A rider is assigned — never before ready.
By hand or nearest-available, inside the delivery zone the address resolved to. Zones are real polygons carrying their own fee schedule and SLA targets, so an at-risk delivery is visible before it starts.
- Both
Track
The customer watches it come to the door.
Every status lands back in the same chat thread, alongside a tokenised link that streams rider position live, with no account and no login. Proof of delivery closes it, cash is recorded if it was pay-on-delivery, and every event is webhooked back to your system.
See it on your own catalogue
We load your products and walk one order end to end: placed in WhatsApp, packed, dispatched, and tracked to the door.
What you get
Fewer lost orders. Fewer phone calls.
No more "where is my rider?" calls
The customer gets a live link the moment a rider is assigned and watches the bike move. No app, no account, and no phone call to your counter.
Every delivery has proof
A rider cannot close a job without a photo or a signature. When a customer says it never arrived, you open the order and look.
Get paid three ways, one order either way
M-Pesa inside the chat, card on a secure page, or cash to the rider at the door. Delivered and paid stay separate, so the cash a rider hands in reconciles against real orders.
Run more than one shop
Each branch keeps its own catalogue, prices, WhatsApp number and staff. Staff only ever see their own branch, so a busy counter never shows another shop’s orders.
Already on Shopify? Import it
Connect the store once and your products, prices and stock come across, then stay in step. The bot sells exactly what the shop sells.
Know who changed what
Every status change records who did it, when, and why. When an order goes wrong you can see what actually happened instead of guessing.
Integrations & API
Push a delivery from your own system.
A keyed REST API with idempotent writes and signed, replay-safe webhooks. Every mutating call takes an Idempotency-Key, so a retry never creates a second delivery.
